THE LOEWE FOUNDATION CRAFT PRIZE
The LOEWE Foundation Craft Prize has announced Fanglu Lin as the winner of the 2021 award. Lin creates textile pieces working closely with women of the Bai minority in Yunnan province, China. The virtual showcase rendered the Great Hall of the Musée des Arts Décoratifs to display the crafts while announcing the launch of the digital platform, The Room. The new platform is the first public database of contemporary craft, evoking LOEWE’s continued commitment to supporting global craft.
THE NEW SSENSE KIDS ASSORTMENT
SSense has unveiled an expansive assortment of emerging and established designers while celebrating the next generation of young creatives with their latest kidswear launch. The kid’s department includes gender-neutral apparel, accessories, and footwear from ages 0-3 months to 14 years old, featuring exclusive capsule collections designed by 1017 ALYX 9SM, Collina Strada, and Doublet, reinforcing the idea of matching with their favourite adults or parents.
MARNI MARKET
Marni Market is launching a pop-up shop in London from 2nd June, introducing its one-of-a-kind home and lifestyle collection. The pop-up will be located at 5 Carlos Place, a shopping extension of Matches Fashion, selling items including hand-woven chairs, candles, rugs, and hammocks. There will also be a selection of bags alongside the home collection, in crocheted and woven styles made in collaboration with Colombian artisans. The pieces reflect the artsy and crafted aesthetic of Marni, with clashing colours and playful design.
PRIMARK X RECOVER
Primark and sustainable fabric producer Recover™ have partnered to create a leisurewear collection made from recycled materials. The range is available in navy, white, black, and grey colourways with hero items including the V neck T-shirt body and a matching hoodie and jogger set. The leisurewear pieces are stocked in 179 stores globally, in the UK and the US, with prices starting at £3.50/$5, making sustainability more accessible to the mass market.
REISS X PAIGE DENIM
Reiss and denim brand Paige have collaborated on The Paige collection, exhibiting 16 denim styles for women and 12 for men for spring summer 2021. The women’s range includes timeless staples of flares, skinnies, straight-legs, and shorts, while men’s denim silhouettes focus on slim and skinny fits. The brands have aligned their initiatives to deliver high quality and innovation with body contouring, comfort, and shape retention. This collection has been released just in time for the denim comeback, offering premium fits for an effortless transition out of sweats.
